Grab your camera and get snapping on the theme of 'the railway seen'。
We're supporting the Railway Camera Club's Young Railway Photographer of the Year competition秒速快3, which calls for images with a railway connection taken after 1 January 2019 illustrating 'the railway seen'.
Pictures should illustrate the diversity of the current railway scene in the UK and the variety of subject matter available such as steam, electric and diesel traction, contemporary railway vehicles, architecture, people, landscapes, design features and abstract image. Some images might also show how the new blends with the old. However, every picture must have some connection with ‘Britain’s railways today’.
Entries will not be accepted if they have been taken from an unsafe railway location or a location where the photographer has clearly been trespassing on railway property.
Winners in the under-18s category can win a photography course provided by the Jessops Academy, a tram-driving experience and more.
Winners in the 19–25 category can win a Nikon P900 camera, a railway-related prize from the East Lancashire Railway and more.
Plus, the overall winner with the best image from the entire competition will have the chance to ascend the Forth Railway Bridge to take photographs from a stunning vantage point.
Good luck! The competition closes on 31 October 2020.
